When it comes to home workouts
PUSH UPS ARE A MUST!
There is no simpler and more effective push exercise than the push up.
But there will come a time when they get EASY for you
And what do you do?
YOU ADD MORE REPS
Now this is a good way to progress but eventually you will be doing sets of 50+
At that point your push ups will be used as an endurance exercise and gaining muscle will be more difficult that way.
So what can you do to make push ups HARDER?
You advance to a harder progression.
There are endless push up variations out there but let's focus on only 4 today:
Level 1: Regular Push Ups x 30
Level 2: Feet Elevated Push Ups x 30
Level 3: Archer Push Up x 20 (Each Arm)
Level 4: 1 Arm Push Up x 5 (Each Arm)
If you can do the amount of reps on level 1 - move onto level 2 until you hit the rep goal and keep advancing.
A big complain with bodyweight exercises is that they are too easy
But if you know how to advance to more difficult progressions
You will keep challenging & stimulating your muscles so they have no choice but to GROW!
If you've been crushing your home workouts and push ups have gotten "easy"
Add one of these variations & start making progress again!
