Ahh I still remember how I felt in the picture on the left.
That was 3 years ago during Christmas.
I had a few beers with my cousins & I feel asleep afterwards.
⠀
I was big into craft
beer during this time & was drinking 4 times a week.
All this led me to put on a lot of fat & loose a lot of muscle.
I was drinking, eating fast food, sleeping late & exercised very irregularly - My life was a big mess during this time.
The picture on the right is me last month while in Hawaii.
My
roommates & I had just finished an early sprint & pull ups workout - we were walking back to our Airbnb to cook breakfast (Bacon and eggs anyone?)
HOW DID I GO FROM DRINKING 4 TIMES A WEEK TO WAKING UP EARLY TO GO WORKOUT?
It wasn’t easy but I had to give up these 3 things:
1️⃣ Alcohol almost everyday
⠀
I
still drink. I still love craft beer (stouts & sours are life) but I don’t spend full days drinking anymore.
⠀
I used to go on brewery hopping adventures all the time & while I always enjoyed those experiences - I don’t have the time for it anymore.
⠀
I own a fitness business & alcohol doesn’t let my brain 🧠 think clearly so I can’t afford to get drunk otherwise my business & productivity will suffer.
⠀
Deciding to give up alcohol was a matter of setting up my
priorities straight & in this case my clients + business get all my attention.
⠀
2️⃣ Eating Out
⠀
I still eat out here & there (specially when I travel) but I don’t go on crazy food adventures like I used to anymore.
Before I would see a video of a carne asada burrito stuffed with hot Cheetos all wrapped in bacon.
And I would either be on inside my car driving to get it
Or I would texting 20 friends to see who wants to go on a food adventure with me!
I am proud to say that Ive eaten pretty epic food & have probably spent the equivalent of a college tuition on crazy foods 😳
But just like alcohol - eating out doesnt help my brain think clearly.
Nor does it help my stomach get leaner.
So for now most of my crazy foodie adventures are paused since my goal is to get shredded.
Once again this
decision was based on having clear priorities.
3️⃣ Watching shows & movies every day
⠀
So I had this phase where all I did was watch horror movies.
⠀
Every night after work I would go online & find a new movie to watch.
⠀
Some were good & some were crappy - I had a lot of fun watching movies & binging series but at the end of the day none of this made me productive
⠀
I have now switched
the movie watching for studying online courses to help me with my fitness & business
⠀
I’ve also improved my video & photography skills so get ready for even 🔥 videos.
⠀
As you can see at the end of the day giving up on these things was simple after I defined my priorities.
