I still remember the first time I used
chalk.
I was at Strength Camp with Elliott Hulse & he saw me struggling on the gymnastic rings as I attempted to do chin ups.
I jumped to the rings since they were high for me & kept slipping off.
Elliott said
to put some chalk on - "it will help with the grip"
So I applied this powdery magic & I was able to grip the rings with easy instead of falling off.
After that moment IÂ got hooked!
I started to use chalk on
everything from barbells to bars to trees sometimes jaja
If you've never used chalk before & gripping a bar for a long time is holding you back from doing more pull ups then I highly encourage you to buy chalk.
Specially if you are practicing more advanced calisthenics moves like muscle ups & pull overs since they will create a lot of friction on your hands and leave you prone to ripping calluses or getting blisters.
