4 Essential Things You MUST Do In Order To Build Muscle
1️⃣ BUILD RELATIVE
STRENGTH:
At the beginning, your focus should be on getting strong at the basics (pull ups, push ups, dips, squats, lunges, etc) & using good form to develop good neurological patterns.
It's not always sexy to train the basics since you wanna do cool moves but being strong at these
exercises builds the foundation for more advanced calisthenics moves.
Some good strength metrics to shot for are:
- Being able to do at least 8 pull ups
- 40 push ups
- 50 bodyweights squats
- run 1 mile without
dying (yes cardio is essential)
2️⃣ FOLLOW A PLAN:
You can try to do it all yourself or focus on following a workout routine that is proven to get results. So many people are "working out" without a plan & that's why they don't get results.
Most time they focus on the "show muscles" AKA abs, chest + arms & forget they have legs & a back that needs to get stronger too. Follow a workout routine that will not only strengthen the front of your body but your back & legs too.
3️⃣ EAT IN A CALORIE SURPLUS:
For many years I assumed I ate
enough just because my plates were big but now that I track my macros I can see exactly how many calories I am taking in. Looking back, I ate big meals but only once or twice a day and this wasn't even enough for my caloric needs.

So learn to track your food, it will bring you awareness of what you are actually eating so you can modify your diet to meet your caloric & macro needs.
4️⃣ HAVE A COMMUNITY OR
COACH:
You don't have to do this muscle building thing alone or spend countless hours trying to learn how to build muscle like I have. You can simply join a community that will teach you how to workout or hire a coach.
