What up my beast!
We've all experienced how great it feels to finish a workout. The endorphins and seeing your muscles swell up on your shirt is a high of itself.
But although you kill it at the gym it doesn't always mean that you get more confident in your own life even tough you are looking better & getting stronger. You
have great improvements but part of you is still shy & scared to take risk in your day to day life.
I've been there myself & it wasn't until I started to do these "exercise patterns" in my own workouts that I got a massive increase in confidence & my ability to take risks. So I wanna share them with you so you can be a more powerful & confident
beast!
7 Confidence Boosting Exercises
- Sprints: Run as fast as you can for distance - not only great for muscle building but you get to push
yourself to the limit every time by trying to sprint faster each session. This changes your mindset & makes you always seek self improvement
- Jumps: Any kid of jump in high boxes, to tables or even rails like parkour athletes do. Jumps are explosive in nature and they force you to be more aggressive & unlock that animal inside of you. Quite simply you can't half
ass a jump since you gotta always use all your force to jump high.
- Throwing things: Whether that's a med ball throw to the wall forwards, throwing a ball behind your head or picking up a rock and seeing how far you can throw it will force you to be aggressive. Every time you throw the same item again you will want to do it with more force & strength and this will
make you more resilient & persistent.
- Muscle ups: Another explosive movement in nature but you might not be able to do it. What I love about muscle ups it's the journey & persistence you gotta put in order to achieve. You gotta practice it consistently & build up your strength in other muscles in order to be able to achieve it. What this teaches you is to be
resourceful, persistent & patient. And once you you get your first muscle up all things change for you. You unlock a new world of possibilities, moves & skills that you can now do since you are on top of the bar. Not to mention that you will be among the 1% of the world who can muscle up.
- Handstands: Another skill that requires patience & persistence but the
thing I like most about handstands for confidence is that it forces you to see the world from a different perspective. If you simply do a handstand against the wall & think about your problems you will have a very different way of analyzing thing simply because you are upside down. So if you are having something bothering you right now flip upside down & think about it while you handstand.
- Squats: We all squat in our day to day life when we need to pick up something from the floor like a heavy box. It's a fundamental movement pattern we all gotta be able to execute efficiently yet so many of us squat with limited range of motion & back pain. If you focus on fixing your squat by stretching & doing mobility work you will alleviate these restrictions and move more efficiently than 99% of the people in this world. And there is a huge
sense of power when you can move better than other people.
- Plyometrics: Being explosive is fundamental to boosting your confidence & you can apply this to any bodywieght exercise: Dips, pull ups, push ups, squats, lunges, etc....All of them have a learning curve but plyometrics teach you to act & let your body be as explosive as it can & learn how to
appropriately catch yourself. If you can do a clapping push up you gotta be explosive AF and also be relaxed enough to catch the fall. This teaches you balance in life & allows you to ground and center yourself after taking so much action. It's the Ying & Yang.
What you notice is that most of these movements are explosive & athletic in nature.
And that's because in order to gain more confidence trough your workouts you need to me more primal, aggressive & animalistic.
You gotta just take action without much thought & these 7 exercises force you to be instinctive & just do. Not overthink - just act!
In our day to day society we are given directions by our bosses or school: "You should do this, or make sure you finish this homework"
And over time all of this makes us docile and conformist. But not you, you are not one of those followers. You stand up for what you believe and are taking actions on your goals & I
am proud that you are part of the Beast Family.
The body really is the mind & if you wanna boost your confidence you gotta provoke it trough movement & exercise not just thinking about it.
So if you've been getting great strength & physique results with your
workouts but are not feeling as confident as you imagined having a great body would make you add these 7 exercises to your workouts & you will double your confidence quickly!
