Whats up champ!
Yesterday I went to a workshop called "Human Strong Workshop" which was all about how to make our movement more "organic" or as I like to call it to just "flow"
In it Daniel (The coach leading the workshop) took us trough his ideology of movement & forced us to explore new ranges of
motion.
He focuses on mobilizing the joints in your body so you can move with less restriction.
After that we focused on just playing with primal patterns:
- We squatted for 2 min and followed
someones hand that was moving all over the place while trying to keep our feet planted
- We got on all fours & did push ups where our partners guided us (Sometimes you ended up in a super wide push up)
- We deadlifted other people in the workshop (Curled them into a ball and picked them up)
It was super fun! And I wanna share with you 3
push up variations that are dynamic in nature so you can also start exploring and expanding your current ranges of motion:
- Hindu Push Ups
- Push up w/ kick through
- Spiderman push ups
What all of these have in common is that they all require you to move in a
greater range of motion & at the same time how much range you have will determine how far you can move.
For example if you are tight on your you shoulders, chest & hips you won't be able to go super deep on a Hindu push up.
These push ups are not only harder
but they are super fun & will make your workouts more intense. So if you have been getting bored & wanna try something new add one of these to your workout & you will be excited to train again.
Give them a try & let me know how they feel,
