Going to this gym always fires me up since I have learned a lot from the founder of this gym: Elliott Hulse
If you don't know who Elliott Hulse is: he is the owner of
Strength Camp, ex professional strongman & author of the book KING which teaches men how to become the strongest version of themselves.
He actually was my first mentor I ever had & has influenced my training & life in a very positive way.
I actually sold my beds just to go visit him (but that is a story for a different email :)
Strongman & Bodyweight Workout
1a) Dips x 6-7 reps (I used a lot of variations)
2a) Stone Loading 6-7 reps
Repeat super-set 7 times
3) Keg Overhead Presses x Submaximal Reps (Not going to failure)
4) Log Overhead Press x 20
5) Fat grip curls x 10 (I just did
these for fun since I never do curls & the fat grips were fun)
6) Push up freestyle x 3 sets (Simple drills to practice for the triple clap push up)
I was exhausted after the first super-set but this workout was fun as
hell!
Also not many athletes here practice more advanced bodyweight training so it was fun to teach a few guys how to air walk!
- I personally love strongman - The raw nature of the sport brings out the primal nature in us.
- I also love bodywieght training - Being able to connect & control your body is a feeling that you can't fully achieve with outside objects.
So in this workout I combined both of those styles!
If you have the
equipment give this workout a try or modify it but if not just take the principles & ideas & apply them to your own workouts.
Also if you like the beats in the video. Specially Elliott's Iconic intro song you can download them here:
Nic & Elliott are giving them away so why not do my part & hook you up if you are a
fan.
Talk tomorrow!
