A frequent question I get asked is How Can I Pack Some Meat
In Forearms?
There is a lot of "isolation exercises" you can do but honestly those are very limited so here is the simplest & most effective way to get bigger forearms is to:
SQUEEZE THE BAR YOU ARE USING LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDED ON IT!
- When doing dips: Squeeze the π© out of the parallel bars & hold on
top of the bars for 10-30 seconds.
- When doing pull ups: Again squeeze the bars like your life depended on it & hang for an extra 10-30 seconds.
Why this works:
To build muscle you need to create more TIME UNDER TENSION and that is easily done by squeezing
the bar really tight.
Actually right now: Make a fist and squeeze really hard for 5 seconds.
You will notice that everything in your arm is engaged.
Your hands, forearms, biceps, triceps, lats, shoulder and all
muscles in your arm are creating tension simply by squeezing your hand.
This same thing happens when you are hanging from a bar or holding onto a bar.
The only different is that you have your own bodyweight as added weight.
I like to squeeze the bar for time too and this again creates more time under tension but also works on your static strength which many of us as lacking.
Next time you workout squeeze the bars harder & hold the bars for a little longer (could be in your last rep) and watch those forearms ballon up!
