Move because your Alive!

It's a sunny day here in Southern California and this got me thinking back to my younger days
The days where I just woke up & went out there to play soccer & basketball for hours
I just ate a banana and boom off I was
- I didn't care about training
- I didn't care about letting my muscles recover from the heavy lifting
- I didn't care that I was not eating enough
All I did was just listen to my body & let it move & play like it wanted to do so
Why am I telling you this?
Well as we learn more bout lifting, nutrition, taking proper care, and overall how to workout to make our muscles get bigger & stronger
We tend to put barriers on fun, over-think our recovery process & simply miss out on going out with friends because we "need to" go to the gym
This all has it's merit, specially if your working up to a worthy goal that requires full dedication & commitment
But at the same time you sometimes gotta break the rules & let your body just guide you on what to do
Skipping a meal won't kill your progress, doing more cardio than your "supposed" won't eat away your muscle
It's all just over-analyzing things & putting more stress in your body (and we all know stress is a killer to your gains & progress)
It's a weekend, so go out there an enjoy it
You've been putting in work the whole week, so get a break from following "rules"
Just move because your body wants to & don't care about sets, reps, parameters or even tracking anything
Just move because your Alive!
I've been messing around with mobility work & warm ups this whole week (the non-sexy stuff)
And I found some cool stuff that will help you lift a lot more without pain & with more Full Range of Motion (and more ROM = more Muscle Fibers targeted = more Muscle Building Potential)
Can't wait to share that with you, but for now
Go give your mind a rest & go have some fun :)
