If its heavy lift it!

Everyone starts lifting weights in a different way
- Some hit the gym right away
- Some do bodyweight daily
- And some don't care and just look for heavy stuff to lift and workout with it!
Am a combination of the bottom 2
I remember doing 100 push ups & 100 sit ups daily right after I woke up & before I went to bed for about 2 years
Eventually I stepped foot into my school's gym & feel in love with the way the cold iron felt in my hands
So I wanted some weights, but after searching online and looking at the horrendous expensive prices I was not gonna be able to afford them
I was 16 at this time, and I also asked my parents to buy me some, but they told me NO, GO AWAY!...ok maybe they weren't that rude, but they did tell me they were expensive & dangerous (I'll talk more about that some other time)
So I was without shiny weights, but my desire for them was not lost
So I did what I had been doing all along: I kept doing bodyweight training & hitting the iron 3 times a week at the school
And this is where my love for the iron started to develop
I kept training with bodyweight at my home & hitting the weights at the school's gym all throughout high school
During the start of college I was making some money so I knew it was time to buy some heavy iron, but still they were to much for what I wanted to pay
So I did what I wish I had done back in high school
It sounds so simple, but my youngster mind didn't see it that way since I was blinded by how every bodybuilder in the videos was always using new shinny dumbbells & barbells so I taught I had to have it like that too
All of the weights & gym equipment I have is now is all used (with the exception of my gymnastic rings) And I Love It!
I don't see a reason to have everything new anymore since that just makes you blame your equipment for the lack of worth ethic & results you get (plus it's cheaper too)
I wrote a post on where I have gotten cheap weights, which you can see here:
Just wanted to remind you to do the work, even if things are not perfect
