Are you weak when you play?

Published: Fri, 11/16/12

Earlier today I went to the park without a plan

I just wanted to move for fun

I ended up working on my muscle up power, pull ups, handstands, rolls & cartwheels

I was fun time

And it's times like these when there is no set plan that I really start thinking and analyzing my whole programming

This freestyle session allowed me to see my weak areas & highlight what I need to work on

You should try it too!

Just go to the park and move! be a kid again & you will see how weak you have you become as you get older

Where am I trying to get with all of this? how will this increase performance, build more muscle or get you stronger?

Well when you expose yourself to natural movements like these, you get to expose all your weak areas
  • If you have a tight back + hip flexors, it will show when your rolling on the floor or hanging on the bar
  • When doing handstands you can feel how weak or strong your core is
  • If you get tired from doing about 20 pull ups and some rolls then your conditioning sucks!
Your body simply won't flow smoothly if you have tight areas, have imbalances & overall are weak

So work on stretching your tight areas + foam rolling them as well
I'll do some videos soon, sharing some of the mobility work & stretches you can do in order to improve these imbalances so you can lift heavier weights with better form, get more results & remain pain free!
But for now just go to the park & move to become aware of what your weak areas are

Let yourself go & just move without thinking ...You will feel super energized & happy afterwards!
